Hi there, everyone…gwp here. I wanted to let you all know a couple of quick things about the project…
First off, the mixing is going really well and you’ll have the CD really soon…how it stands is this: We’re anticipating all material mixed AND mastered AND in the warehouse by the first week of April. As Drew is out on the road right now with Boz, it’s a bit time consuming going back and forth with test mixes for his comment, input and revisions…we lose a lot of time, but…it sure sounds strong. The first tune we completed is called The Black Dog and is a real moody rocker…Drew’s solo work makes you shake your head in disbelief. Is there ANYONE out there that can play like this? Well…no. And Vinnie’s performance on this is nothing short of staggering…just SO powerful. After a number of mixes, Drew and I arrived and consensus on how the entire record is going to ‘sound’. It is a common thing that the first tune takes a long time…after all, the first tune you mix pretty much defines the sound of the record…so we were really careful…in fact ‘three weeks careful’…to work the mix until we just had to say: ”Yeah, that’s it, that’s what we’re after…” You will all be pleased people. And the rest of the tunes will now go very much quicker…
We’ve also made an appointment – for three plus weeks – to edit the DVD in NYC, starting April 2nd. The DVD will be edited in a top NYC post facility by a good friend of ours, Kurt Enger. We have about 9 hours of footage, and a fair bit of other ‘stuff’…this should be a lot of fun!
Drew is providing us with his ideas for CD and DVD artwork this week…and off they will go to out great friend and ally, Christina French. Frenchy will put all Drew’s ideas, our liner notes and credits and such into the right formats for CD…and ‘design’ the whole package – and we really need to give her a shout and a huge thanks for this… T H A N K S !!!!
Finally, we are planning a full-on ‘Listening Party’ to give folks a sneak peek at the entire CD…and this will be held on April 5th here in NYC at a venue to be named ONLY in private emails between me and interested parties. To be clear, we’ll have wine and snacks, Drew will be there, along with many friends of the project and investors…and you are welcome to join us…BUT, let me be clear, it is a fundraiser to get support for the very last weeks of the project completion…such things as mastering, duplication, dvd production…this is the last phase of our three year adventure and we are SO psyched to get it all done – and deliver an AMAZING project to you, the folks that have helped us out…so feel free to contact me directly and I’ll tell you all about the April 5th party. That’s the news…let’s all get psyched and start ramping up for a CD and DVD that are just tremendous…time to get the social media going !
